Just the maths This is a collection of separate units. Unit 18 contains Descriptive statistics. Unit 19 is devoted to Probability (the Binominal distribution, the Poisson distribution, the Normal distribution etc.).
All units are presented as PDF files. The techniques are demonstrated by worked examples and reinforced by exercises. Answers to exercises are supplied at the end of each unit of work.

HyperStat Online Statistics Textbook  This is an online textbook which covers a range of topics, including probability, confidence interval and hypothesis testing.

statsoft.jpgThis is an electronic statistics textbook which covers a wide range of statistical topics, particularly application of statistics.

The material covered is ideal for both undergraduates and postgraduate students.

stat-glory.jpgThis glossary is ideal to have as an additional resource to use while you are learning statistics.

numbers.jpgThis site covers a wide range of topics e.g. hypothesis testing, chi-square test, t test, ANOVA, correlation, linear regression etc. It is built as a series of toolkits some of which are web-based and interactive, whilst others are currently printable files (Excel or PDF).

Statnotes: Topics in Multivariate Analysis  This is an on-line statistics book which has been developed by David G Garson. This book covers a wide range of topics, focusing on key terms and concepts. It also shows how statistical tests can be computed using SPSS and how results from SPSS should be analysed.

Video resources

helm.jpgThis site contains short videos (Probability, Discrete Probability Distributions, The Normal Distribution etc.) that link in with the HELM Booklets. Although aimed at Engineers the material is still relevant and useful for non-engineers

These Videos take you trough the statistical operations that can be performed on the different levels of measurement, type I and type II errors; the probability of sample errors affecting research results etc.
