Information Literacy - Resources for Students

The resources included on this page are designed to help you develop your information literacy skills.

According to CILIP (The Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals) guidelines, Information Literacy is defined as 'knowing when and why you need information, where to find it, and how to evaluate, use and communicate it in an ethical manner.’ This can be found at http://www.cilip.org.uk

We will be following the standard UK Information Literacy model, devised by the Information Literacy Working Group of the Society of College, National & University Libraries (SCONUL). Details are available from the SCONUL Website: http://www.sconul.ac.uk/groups/information_literacy/
